India’s Opposition Leader, Ajit Pawar, recently shared his opinion on Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s educational qualifications as the row over PM Modi’s degree continues to be a hot topic of debate. The leader of the opposition expressed that in politics, a degree has no relevance and that the win of BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha Election was a scenario where the educational qualifications of the PM were never questioned.

Pawar stated that Modi had been able to develop a strong charisma throughout India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, due to his tremendous leadership qualities. He added that the recognition and success of BJP was a result of Modi’s capabilities, and that number of CMs and PMs in India have been elected without any questions into their qualifications, making the present debate irrelevant.

Pawar also expressed his disappointment over people talking about PM Modi’s degree instead of focusing on the important issues such as the agrarian crisis, and the hike in LPG prices. He pointed out that the BJP-Shiv Sena’s Savarkar Gaurav Yatras were nothing but ‘political dramas’, and that Deputy CM Fadnavis must ensure that Savarkar receives a Bharat Ratna.
