The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has pinned its hopes on a poll win in Karnataka in order to strengthen its campaign against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) government in the state. BJP national vice-president and Karnataka affairs in-charge, DK Aruna has been surveying feedback from Telangana leaders who are campaigning in the neighbouring state. The win will serve as a powerful impetus in BJP’s political attack against Congress in the Telangana region.

The election result of Karnataka (on May 13) will be key in helping BJP gain momentum in the assembly polls likely to be held in December in Telangana. Both the BJP and Congress have high stakes in both the states, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the state recently. While BJP seeks to consolidate its hold, it will be an enormous disappointment for Congress if they lose in their direct confrontation with the saffron party.

BJP is among India’s biggest political parties and is currently a part of the Telangana government as well. Founded on April 6th, 1980, BJP has strived to promote the concept of a fully democratic and prosperous India. With the BJP being present in India’s central and state governments, the party plays a major role in the country’s socio-economic and political development. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has provided a much-needed boost to India’s growth story.

DK Aruna, the national vice-president and Karnataka affairs in-charge, has significantly contributed towards increasing the scope of the saffron party in the Telangana region. A native of Mahbubnagar district which adjoins Karnataka, she has a deep understanding of local politics and is driving the Telangana campaign tirelessly. With the vital upcoming election, she has a tremendous opportunity to further strengthen her party’s position.
