BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is attempting to appeal to the Lingayat community of Karnataka ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls. CM Basavaraj Bommai has unveiled statues and other monuments across the state, from Belagavi in the North to Chamarajanagar in the South, in an effort to woo the Lingayat voters. These inaugurations have come under sharp criticism from opposition parties who say BJP is using statue politics to gain electoral advantage.

A tribal woman and man died due to police firing during a protest and the matter stirred chaos in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Friday. Home Minister Narottam Mishra addressed the issue and registered FIR against 13-17 people. The opposition was agitated and Congress leader Vijaylaxmi Sadho walked out of the assembly in tears. There have been other deaths by tribal people, thus it's important for justice to be served and for Madhya Pradesh to take stricter measures for prevention.

Yadav supports people of Kolkata for their recent victory against BJP and promises to sacrifice for the nation's constitution.
