Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Bharatiya Janata Party State president Somu Veerraju met in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss strategies on how to strengthen their party in anticipation of the next year’s State elections. Both leaders had planned to meet when Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the party on April 7, however, Mr. Veerraju was preoccupied.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s addition to the BJP is expected to be a great benefit since he has a long track record of political ties and brings his experience as Chief Minister to the party. Following their meeting, Mr. Veerraju will be having several meetings over the next two days with some of the senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers in Delhi. This tour is significant considering the talks that Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan had with BJP president J.P. Nadda and V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister for Andhra Pradesh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, abbreviated as BJP, is a reputed political party in India which was formed in 1980. Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party is currently presiding in the government and continues to promote its vision of a strong and developed India. The BJP maintains its ideology of Integral Humanism, formed with the adherence to religious, cultural, political and economic values to benefit socially and economically marginalized sections of the nation. In addition, the party strives to set up a democratic social order focusing on avoidance of power and money-based politics. The BJP is poised to secure a win in several Indian states during the upcoming elections.

Somu Veerraju is the current BJP State President and has risen to fame within the party in the past few years. He has served in various positions in the party, most notably as a leader in the organisation. Having a deep understanding of the political climate in the State, Mr. Veerraju is an important member as the BJP deepens its political roots. He is instrumental in strategies for the upcoming elections as he has the capacity to read people’s minds, anticipate their needs and manipulate their opinions.

N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is a seasoned politician and was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2010-2014. During his tenure, he took numerous significant decisions, from the introduction of VAT to redistribute the State’s tank irrigation system. Currently, he is a strong member of the BJP and has excellent relations with all the leaders of the party. His experience brings many advantages and will be a great asset to the BJP as they prepare for upcoming elections.
