Rama Rao pointed out how despite the state delivering all round performance, he failed to acknowledge it, attributing it to petty politics.

Rama Rao highlighted how Telangana has the highest per capita income growth among all states in India, increasing from 1,24,000 in 2014-15 to 3,17,000 in 2022-23. This is despite not receiving favourable attention from the Union Government. He further stated how Telangana was the first state to provide drinking water to all households, and has built the world’s largest lift irrigation project among others.

When it comes to technology, Telangana has also been a powerhouse, claimed Rama Rao. He cited how the state is the vaccine hub of the world and has the highest green cover growth of 7.7% in India. Telangana has also won the second highest number of awards (26) for municipalities in India. It is also among the top four contributing states to the Indian GDP, and is among the top three in Ease of Doing Business. The state also has one of the lowest debt to GSDP ratios in the country.

In addition to this, Telangana also the best industrial policy in India and is home to India’s largest textile park, Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Furthermore, the state has the highest per capita power consumption in India and is the second largest renewable energy producer. Rama Rao further commented on how Telangana has the lowest corruption in India according to the latest survey of Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS).

The IT Minister ended his statement by respecting the Prime Minister for the good work done, but at the same time, questioned the lack of acknowledgement for a performing state. The statement of KT Rama Rao is indicative of the consistent good works done by the Telangana government, despite their oppositions from others.
