Accusing the Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government of not providing any democratic space to its political rivals, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha recently declared that BJP will come to power in the state soon. He made this statement while attending the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ felicitation program organized by the BJP at the Kolkata’s National Library. Mr. Saha expressed that this double engine model with a single party running both the Centre and the state is the only way to foster growth in the state.

He further expressed his dismay at the fact that the TMC flags and flexes were the only thing he could observe when coming to the airport, thus indicating the alleged lack of democratic space for other opposition parties. He further expressed that the saffron party has successfully captured the imaginations of the common folks who are supportive of the development and growth mantra of BJP, ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ which was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also strongly criticized the Mamata Banerjee led government of Bengal for partaking in wrongful activities such as clashes, bomb explosions and murders. He also expressed that the development of this state has been hijacked by the alleged exchanges of money. He also expressed his view on how Tripura is an example of tolerant co existence of opposition parties due to the absence of political murders or clashes post election.

The Tripura Chief Minister was highly critical of the Left led government of the state which is widely accused of the unfair usage of ‘scientific rigging’ in order to win elections. He claims that his government will never allow the use of scientific rigging, false voting or any other unethical political practice while carrying out elections. He also agreed to the fact that Congress had to suffer a lot under the Left rule in Tripura but soon had to make a truce with the same Left in order to thwart BJP from coming to power in the state.

He looked down upon the TMC for allegedly inciting appeasement among masses for the votes. He claimed that BJP believes in an inclusive party where everyone is deemed equal and does not partake in politics of division.
