MLA of Dharmavaram Responds to Claims Made by Lokesh

In the wake of allegations made by Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary and son of N. Chandrababu Naidu, Dharmavaram MLA Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy released a selfie video outside a structure near the Krishna riverbank. He alleged that this structure was built illegally by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son, Mr. Lokesh, in response to the Selfie Challenge issued by Mr. Lokesh.

Mr. Venkatarami Reddy demanded that Mr. Lokesh prove that the guest house, named Lingamaneni Guest House, was built on illegally acquired property or prove that the structure he himself had built in Dharmavaram had been built on illegally occupied river embankment land. He further challenged the son of Chandrababu Naidu to resign if he is able to prove any of the claims he made.

The MLA additionally counter-questioned Mr. Lokesh on the authenticity of the images he had shared; images taken in the backdrop of several sand lorries. He demanded that Mr. Lokesh provide evidence showing at least one sand lorry from Dharmavaram was leaving for Bangalore.

Additionally, Mr. Venkatarami Reddy informed viewers of the video about a programme called ‘Good Morning Dharmavaram’ that he had been hosting since 2008, much before he became a MLA in 2019. He concluded by saying that if a single complaint is registered against him by a farmer or landowner claiming he acquired their land illegally, he is ready to quit politics.

This incident has created quite a buzz in the public and has left many wondering where the truth lies. Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy is a leader of the YSR Congress Party and represents the Dharmavaram Assembly constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was elected in 2019 for a five-year term. Nara Lokesh is the general secretary and key strategist of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and is the son of N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is the current Leader of Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
