Recent news of gorgeous Bollywood Diva Mouni Roy making her Tollywood debut with Dev had taken the internet by surprise and created quite a stir amongst her ardent fans. However, there is some bad news as Mouni Roy has put all the rumours to rest, confirming that she is not part of any such project.
The actress stated in an interview that she does not have any idea about Dev’s Byomkesh Film, and that she was unaware of how this rumour had started. She also added that she is open to exploring the Bengali film industry if there is an interesting script and a good offer, though she confessed that she hasn’t watched any Bengali films lately. Mouni also expressed her appreciation of the Bengali film industry, citing popular movies of the legendary Uttam Kumar-Suchitra Sen, and Satyajit Ray.
It was previously reported that Mouni Roy was to be part of Dev’s upcoming Byomkesh film ‘Byomkesh Durgo Rahasya’ in which the actor will be playing Byomkesh Bakshi and Mouni was expected to portray Byomkesh’s wife Satyabati. Ambarish Bhattacharya was also speculated to play the role of Ajit, one of the most famous characters associated with the iconic Byomkesh.
The shooting for the new Byomkesh movie is set to start in May and is planned for an August 15 release. Apart from this film, Dev is also associated with the much-anticipated ‘Bagha Jatin’ biopic which is scheduled to release during Durga Puja.
Mouni Roy is one of the leading actresses of Bollywood who has garnered a huge fan following after her impressive performances in various projects like Brahmastra, Gold, and the series Naagin. Despite having worked in many movies and web series, this news of her debuting in Tollywood had taken the audience by surprise and had created a lot of excitement amongst fans.
