The Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently charged the Telangana government of not cooperating in completing projects. In response, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Minister for Industries, Urban Development and IT K.T. Rama Rao has asked Prime Minister Modi to name any state which outperformed Telangana in the past nine years.

Through social media, Mr. Rama Rao listed the progress made by the State of Telangana since its formation in 2014. It is the state with the highest per capita growth, first state to provide treated drinking water to all its homes, completed the world’s largest lift irrigation project ‘Kaleshwaram’, and is also the best rural development model in the country with 100% open defecation free villages and second highest paddy producer in India.

In addition, Telangana has created the highest number of IT jobs, achieved the highest green cover growth of 7.7%, bagged the second highest number of awards for municipalities in the country, tops the list in ease of doing business, houses the world’s largest textile park ‘Kakatiya Mega Textiles Park’, highest per capita energy consumption in the country, second largest renewable energy producer in the country and is among the top four contributors to the country’s GDP.

Notably, Hyderabad was also rated the best Indian city for five consecutive years (2015-20) and Telangana has the least corruption rate according to a recent survey.

K.T. Rama Rao has expressed his disapproval of PM Modi for not admiring the good work done by Telangana and accused him of indulging in petty politics.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is a regional political party in Telangana State. It was founded in April 2001 by K. Chandrashekar Rao and is currently headed by the same person. The party has a strong emphasis on state autonomy and regionalism, making it a strong alternative to mainstream parties. It won the Telangana state legislative assembly elections in 2018 and formed the government in the state. It is also in power in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

K.T. Rama Rao is the working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Minister for Industries, Urban Development and IT for Telangana. He is the son of the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao. He is credited for the growth and the development of the State. Under his leadership, Telangana has made tremendous progress in areas such as health, education and infrastructure.
