The Union government has recently unveiled the New Foreign Trade Policy 2023, with Sunil Patwari, Chairman of TEXPROCIL, providing positive feedback on the policy. According to Patwari, the policy is progressive, growth oriented and in the right direction. It provides continuity with a responsive framework and allows for real-time amendments in the future. Additionally, the policy is focused on export promotion through collaboration between exporters, states, districts, and Indian Missions. Other advantages of the policy include providing ease of doing business and recognizing emerging areas like e-commerce and export hubs.

TEXPROCIL is the premier Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council set up in the year 1954. Its objective is to promote the export of cotton textiles from India. This Council contributes significantly to the international trade by helping exporters get the best from their investments. TEXPROCIL is recognised by the Government of India and works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, as well as its line departments and agencies, such as the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

Shri Sunil Patwari is the chairman of TEXPROCIL and is a renowned businessman. He has been the driving force behind the promotion and development of the export of cotton textiles from India. He is the founder of AMAAS Business Solutions Private Limited which is a syndicate of the textile industry. He is also the chairperson of the Textiles Committee of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). He has served as the President of Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) and The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL). He has been honoured with the Padma Shri Award in 2021 for his significant contributions to the Indian textile industry.
