BJP National Spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore recently held a press conference in Jaipur, Rajasthan to address alarming statistics about the security of women in the state. Mr. Rathore specifically targeted the Rajasthan government and accused them of encouraging a “casual approach” towards women’s safety by not taking adequate action against criminals. He noted that there had been a 93% increase in cases against women, while 1337 cases had been registered in the current year alone. Additionally, a 163% increase in rape cases of girls over 18 had been observed. Mr. Rathore suggested that the politics of vote-bank are to blame for the Rajasthan Government’s lack of action.
