Over the past four days, Bennett University showcased the true spirit of sportsmanship in the grand finale of their sports fest, Sportikon. With over 20 universities participating in 16 different categories, it was the perfect platform to spot the future sports stars.
On the fourth and final day, the students showcased their talent in a series of thrilling finals. Jamia Millia Islamia emerged triumphant in the basketball match against Bennett University after an intense battle. Captain Mohammed Amaan of Jamia Millia Islamia said that he and his team had been determined to win since they practised regularly.
The Kabaddi match had the crowd at the edge of their seats. The final match that was held between Amity University, Noida and Noida College of Physical Education (NCPE) turned out to be an exciting affair. NCPE managed to secure the gold medal in the competition. Team member Shubham Bhidauri of NCPE attributed the victory to their impressive coordination. The team also won a cash prize of Rs 41,000 along with the medal.
The excitement of the event culminated in the closing ceremony, which was addressed by Sudhanshu Varma, the Chief Operating Officer of Bennett University. He praised the students for the sportsman spirit they exhibited during the game, and how it brought discipline to their lives.
