Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer made his IPL debut in January 2023 and once again showcased his admiration for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) by flaunting his WWE belt, that was given to him as a gift from The Souled Store. The KKR team took the opportunity to post the video of the all-rounder proudly showing off the belt and expressed that “Venkatesh reigns supreme in Knights’ hearts”.
Iyer posted the picture on his personal Instagram story and expressed his gratitude to The Souled Store. According to his statement, his childhood hero was the Undertaker from the WWE and to receive the special gift from The Souled Store was a major highlight. Iyer further expressed his hopes that the Undertaker himself should see the video and give a signed WWE belt in return.
The KKR team faced the Punjab Kings in their IPL 2023 season opening game, with the KKR team aiming to score a 192-run target. Iyer, who came in as an ‘Impact Player’ was able to provide stability in the KKR chase, scoring a 28-ball 34. However, within the same over, both Iyer and Russell were dismissed and KKR ended up losing by 7 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
