AR Murugadoss is a prolific filmmaker in the Tamil cinema industry and the filmmaker recently gave an interview in which he discussed the probable reason behind the failure of his last film, ‘Darbar’ starring Rajinikanth and Nayanthara in key roles. AR Murugadoss revealed that the time frame in which he had to complete the film was quite limited as Rajinikanth had planned to launch his political party in August that year. The timeline was so tight that he hastened the entire filmmaking process including the story writing, shooting, post-production and more, which consequently led to the failure of the film.

AR Murugadoss is now focusing on his upcoming release on April 7th called ‘August 16, 1947’ which is being produced and directed by him. The film stars Gautham Karthik in the lead role and promising visuals and a topical story line. With this film, he is surely hoping to achieve commercial and critical success.

AR Murugadoss Films is the production house that is owned by the director. As the name suggests, the production house was founded and is headed by the renowned filmmaker. The production house has been behind some of the highest grossing Tamil films in recent years like Holiday, Kaththi, Spyder, and Mersal. The production house is currently gearing up to release ‘August 16, 1947’ which is said to be its biggest project so far.
