Wipro Consumer Breaks Rs 10,000 Cr Mark in FY23 Sales


Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, which competes with Hindustan Unilever and Reckitt, has achieved a major milestone in financial year 2022-23, with its sales crossing Rs 10,000 crore. The company’s flagship brand Santoor alone has crossed over Rs 2,650 crore. These figures have made Wipro Consumer Care the No. 2 brand in the country. Analyzing the success of the firm, Vineet Agarwal, the CEO at Wipro, pointed out their strategies in terms of entrepreneurship and execution of strategies on the ground.

Wipro has also established a strong presence in homecare, launching liquid detergents, fabric softeners, dish wash, and floor cleaners. In late 2020, the firm entered the food sector through the acquisition of Nirapara, its 13th acquisition so far. Despite the rise in competition, the firm has been adamant in its implementation of growth strategies, which includes investments in the manufacturing processes.

The lighting business of Wipro Consumer Care has also surpassed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in the last financial year. With a revenue of over Rs 5,000 crore coming from international markets, the company has been focusing on expanding its reach across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Such efforts have resulted in the consistent growth of the company over the past few years.

Currently, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting is managed by Vineet Agrawal, who is a veteran in the backend as well as FMCG and lending industry. He has more than 17 years of experience in managing marketing teams and shaping businesses. He is an alumnus of either Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and XLRI-Xavier School of Management.
