Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Achieves Revenues Over 10,000 Crores in FY23

Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL), part of Azim Premji-led Wipro Enterprises, recently announced that their sales have crossed the Rs 10,000 crore mark in FY23. This milestone was achieved due to significant growth across geographies, brands, and categories.

The domestic FMCG business of WCCL grew 17% in the financial year ended March 31, 2023. Its sandalwood soap Santoor emerged as the second largest player in the segment in India, with sales of over Rs 2,650 crore. And female toiletries brand Enchanteur has crossed 1,000 crore. In FY23, Wipro also entered the Foods business with the acquisition of the Nirapara brand.

Vineet Agrawal, CEO of WCCL, stated that this is an exciting moment for them as the company has grown 33 times since 2003, when their revenue was Rs 300 crore. Currently, a global FMCG player, WCCL operates in 60 countries and runs 18 factories with a strength of 10,000 employees. The company reported 50% of its revenue from international businesses.

Azim Premji is an Indian business tycoon, investor, and philanthropist, who is the chairman of Wipro Enterprises. He is one of the most influential businessmen in India, having held 80% of the Wipro stock since the 1960s. Till date, Premji’s contributions to charity over the years have crossed INR 115 billion, ranking him India’s 2nd most philanthropic person as per Hurun Philanthropy List. Additionally, Premji was also listed twice in the TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
